Soi 8 Photos (Part 1)

This is the third page of this tour. If you have arrived here you may like to go back to the introductory page of the Soi 7 and 8 tour.

The character of Soi 8 is very similar to that of Soi 7. There are slightly less bars on Soi 8 but you'll probably never know it while you are there. Soi 8 doesn't have the same selection of restaurants that Soi 7 has.

Like Soi 7, Soi 8 has a couple of gogo bars and some hotels. The larger hotels in the Soi 7 and 8 area are located on Soi 8. There are now 2 Air-conditioned bars on Soi 8. One actually opened after this series of photos was taken. That bar will be photographed soon.

Like previously stated the bars spill out of Soi 7 and 8 onto Beach Road. here we see the Soi 8 sign.

This is the other end of the small L-shaped soi that starts on Beach Road.

We take a deviation into that soi before continuing along Soi 8.

The next photo looks back along the soi.

The next photo shows World Wide Bar on the left. This bar has live music at night.

We are now back on Soi 8. Always be careful walking on these sois. They are fairly narrow and some of the driving (or more accurately riding) is very poor. The motorbike taxi riders are probably the worst.

Many small beer bars.

Motorbikes are parked everywhere....

..and anywhere.

Even during the day there is plenty of activity.

There are many places to eat.

However, there are more places to drink.

This is Silver Star Agogo. There is a Silver Star Agogo on Walking Street and a Silver Star 2 Agogo on Soi 7.

Update: Since collecting the photos three air-conditioned bars have opened in this area. There are now 4 air-conditioned bars in Pattaya. Party Bar was the first and that is further along Soi 8.

Coming from Beach Road the first of the new bars in Jenny Bar on the right hand side.

Then directly across the soi is Dreams Beer Bar.

..and next door is Golden Time Bar.

That is the end of the update and we now continue with the tour.

At night the place looks quite different. There are some night photos in the Pattaya Night Photos section. (In the photo below on the left you can see where Dreams Beer Bar and Golden Time Bar are being constructed.)

A closer look at Silver Star Agogo.

One of the beer bar complexes in Soi 8 is the Prince Hotel Complex. This complex has recently been renovated. One popular bar in this complex is called Cherry Bar.

One of the large hotels on Soi 8 is Eastiny hotel. It's hard to miss this place!

The Thai's idea of good wiring is not quite the same as other places!

This shows some more of the Prince Hotel beer bar complex. You can see the sign for the Cherry Bar.

There are a couple of interesting things in this photo looking back towards Beach Road. The place Called Baba Bing is probably the third attempt to get a place going at the back of the Prince Hotel complex in the past year. It is still not doing any business. The place called Family Dance is a Ladyboy bar. Talk about a misnomer!

A bit further along and more bars.

Another large hotel is owned by the Eastiny Group. This is called Estiny Plaza. The place has been upgraded recently and now has a large restaurant at the from of the hotel.

The Party Bar was the first of the air-conditioned bars on Soi 8. Is is worth a stop.

Opposite that intersection is the large Sunshine Hotel.
